Justicia & Dignidad
Maritza Soledad is a Xicana spoken word poeta from the Pacific Northwest. Heavily involved in underground social justice movement, Maritza uses words to liberate young minds. I snapped this flicka of Maritza when she was leaving back to the westside of Washington after having come to the Yakima Valley to perform with a Waxicana Art Collective known as MUJERES IN MOTION.

Alexsis Catherine Perrmann, or lexifervonchrist on tumblr, claims to be an activist, a feminist and a supporter of equal rights, but makes the people around her unsafe by victim blaming and openly corresponding with rapists.
Here’s the story: She posted a screencap of a text message in which she was corresponding with a man someone recognized as a rapist, named Chris Meyer. She received an ask confronting her on her role in feminist and survivor’s safe spaces and her simultaneous friendship with Chris Meyer, an outrageous contradiction when Lexi makes post after post railing against discrimination and rape culture. Her response to this criticism, however, was not to admit how wrong and troubling this was to her fellow women and those around her, it was to deny a crime ever happened, victim blame, make apologies, defend the accused rapist, AND TO NAME HIS VICTIMS. Here is the revolting response she gave:
In Lexi’s response to this person, we learn that:
- Chris has been accused of rape MULTIPLE TIMES BY DIFFERENT GIRLS. And yet she STILL defends his innocence.
- She claims that because the victim was not acting the way she should have after the rape, that she was not raped. Even though Lexi openly admits that she saw what happened and the victim was “entirely too drunk to consent.”
- Third, she names the victim! She tells the victim it is not only her fault, buy also takes it upon herself to reveal the intimate details of her sex life. Another violation.
- We learn that it is the victim’s fault for not listening to her, apparently.
- And she also names someone the victim is close to, and taunts her.
Here is the original link to that post. This is absolutely unacceptable and an unspeakable intrusion and CANNOT go unpunished.
To make matters worse, Lexi’s relationship to the victim was “best friend” for 7 years prior the the attack. She also claimed previously that she was “army crawling to stop” this from happening to her friend, but now claims Chris is innocent.
In short: Lexi is a rape apologist, a rape sympathizer, defender of a man accused of MULTIPLE rapes and contributes to the further insult and degradation of his victims, and a dangerous person to interact with if you are involved in activist circles.
